Speckled bird

 

Mistle thrush.

 

On our recent trip to Brewster on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We had a family of four turkeys hang out in the yard. There was mom and dad with two babies.

 

Everyone’s “favourite” and a very common sight in the garden at this time of year.

 

"Wildlife".

Well I know they drive some folks wild!

Me, I like 'em. Help keep the flies down.

We saw all these while waiting for this to Chuff Along

 

Both of these were on the verbena flowers in the garden this morning. Firstly, the good old Red Admiral:





This one I had to look up, but I think it is a Comma, which I confess to never having heard of:





I regularly see white butterflies on the verbena too, but those little buggers refuse to stay still for even a second. The two above were very considerate and hung around for me.

 

Blow me down if one of the little buggers didn’t just do exactly the opposite to my earlier comment and strike a pose for me. This would appear to be a male Large White (no spots on upper wing):

 

Not found an answer yet Martin; still looking!

How To Identify White Butterflies

It will be good to find out, especially if it proves to be a rarer one.

Red-tailed bumble bee on the patio today. At first I thought it was deceased, but then it started to move around and groom itself.

4000 ex-parrots birds aside, there are some amazing photos there.

 

Squirrel in the garden this morning. He/she has been very busy lately, doubtless preparing the winter stash.

 

Is the Tigger overwatch no longer having any deterrent?
