51602 Joseph RICHARDSON, 6th Royal Field Artillery, suffered GSW to lower left leg and was taken POW at Malincourt 26/8/14 during the Battle of Le Cateau - during the Battle the RFA were heavily engaged firing airburst rounds against the advancing German Infantry taking a heavy toll but suffering for it

That's me about half way through, I'll keep plugging away - if anyone can add liberation questionnaires, war diaries, local newspaper cuttings or extracts from Regimental/Battalion histories or anything to add more info please do - for quite a few they were captured as part of large groups (Singapore, Tobruk, St Valery etc) but for those taken in smaller actions any information that sets the scene would be good. Bamboo43, sorry for the late reply - it can be really hard trying to identify units, plus lots of books sold with any connection to the Far East have Chindit somewhere in the blurb - I only have 2 that I know of (so not really worth a Chindit paybook thread - maybe one day)but who knows what else is in amongst my folders. B83344 John Henry KIMBERLEY, Royal Hamilton Light Infantry, Wounded and POW at Dieppe 19/8/42, escaped and made his way back to the UK and was awarded the DCM
4804574 Leslie PELTELL, 6th Lincolnshire Regiment, captured 4/3/44 - from one of the attached documents he exchanged ID with F T Sedgewick 4389874 Green Howards, his questionnaire doesn't mention this (nor does Sedgewick's - but he did have an escape attempt)
6481053 Ernest George CUNNINGHAM, 8th Royal Fusiliers taken POW 16/2/44 at Anzio - this was the engagement in which Roger Waters of Pink Floyd's father was killed and which prompted the song "When the Tigers Broke Free"
