Hello All, I thought that it is sometimes a good change to share information than to ask. In my search for war diaries I was able to find the diaries of the Regiment de Maisonneuve. At least parts of it that is. I found the diaries without the appendices. I have mailed the web host if they have copies available or are able to help me out. Maybe something positive to report in a while. https://www.rdemais.com/histoire Cheers, Remi
Remi, thank you very much for sharing! I am studing the battle of Groningen, and the the Regiment de Maisonneuve played an important role there, also attacking the Sugar Factory on 14 April 1945.
Cassino, You are welcome I hope you where able to find something relevant to your study. The liberation of Groningen (and Delfzijl) is a largely unknow battle to the Dutch except for those who live in the area. The grandfather of my wife was born and raised in Groningen and shot in his rear by a Canadian rifleman during the liberation . I have never had the pleasure to meet him but from what I have learned he was very upset by the German occupation. Cheers Remi
