    Hi,

A friend of mine found this Kriegsmarine Flag in a ship and paid £20 for it, the owner who sold it to him had no idea if it was real or not. We’ve seen these all selling (Genuine ones) for about £500. From theses pictures is there anyway to tell if this is real?

    Thanks!

if it was only £20 and you have seen the real deal for circa £500 I would be very wary

Yeah the owner didn't have any idea of the flag. We are just trying to figure out from the pictures I posted if it is a real flag or not

Our German flag man, James, hasn't been seen for a while.
There are doubtless some here with the gen on how to ID these things, but you might be better asking on Wehrmacht Awards, AHF, or U-boat.net.

Good luck. Looks old, doesn't it, and people do still find such bargains, though there is a substantial layer of fakery.
(And if selling, be cautious around online offers to buy. Do some sniffing about as there's some right shades in that market. )

von Poop , just saw this and intending to be round a bit more than I have.:)
The flag is sadly a very poor quality reproduction. Size marking , proportions and construction are all wrong. :(
