    Not a great deal to add, his service record has not been digitized as yet by the NAA but his entry on the AWM ROH lists his cause of death as Illness and his nominal roll entry shows that he enlisted in April 1941 and was discharged in April 1944

    On January 11(suddenly) at Melbourne. Otto Carl, the dearly loved husband of Emily (Dot) Fischer, loving father of Vickie, Dorothy (Mrs. T. E. Futcher), Gwynne, Margaret (Mrs. Dracup) and Ted, brother of Oscar and Margaret, aged 55 years.
