Info found in the RAFCommands archives (some info from The Price of Peace by Colin Cummings) show him as being on the roll of honour at West Midlands Police HQ

    Beaufighter X NV371 - 30 miles south of Rangoon

The aircraft was on a ferry flight and the Accident Card merely records that it was found to have crashed and burnt out. The crew are commemorated on the Singapore Memorial

Warrant Officer Jacob India Munday aged 26

Flying Officer William John Hynds aged 24

Pilot Officer William McLure Earl aged 24

Leading Aircraftman John Leslie Whitehouse aged 22
