    Hello members,
Can anyone can help with Percy Lines' Enlistment Book entry please. I own his GSM Palestine 1945-48 and the medal roll shows that he was 1st Rgt R.H.A. in Palestine.

An enhansed picture of his enlstment book entry is attached, showing the information a bit better. The list is from 1942. Am I correct with this inormation? 1151571 Percy Lines enlisted as a Boy in 1942 on an 8 years in the Colours and 4 in the Reserve engagement. He entered the Depot on 1/4/43? What age would he have been when he entered the Depot as a Boy? I was trying to find somer biographical information on him, which I may be able to do if I know his approximate date of birth.
He would be entitled to at least a War Medal, but would he have been sent into action if he was so young?

Thanks very much to anyone who can help.

Officially no he could not be sent into action.

At a Guess he might have been 16 but they could not go abroad until 20 or over.
You had to be 14 to carry a fire arm which is the minimum age of a Cadet.
Junior Soldiers / Leaders and Apprentices are 16 -18

The 67th Field Regt sent 98 Immatures (under 20) back to their sister 2nd Line Regiment during training for war in 1939
these were old enough to join (18) but not old enough to go abroad.
A few aged 16-18 were sent back to the Cadets as they had joined the Cadets under age but trained to a high standard.
Getting past the initial selection during the embodiment process.

Perhaps one of the members might have copies of Kings Regulation regarding this,
as the Infantry seem to have sent lads abroad aged 19.
