The geologist Fred Shotton was a RE officer out in the Med looking for water sources - I guess he was attached to GHQ or whatever, rather than at this sort of level.

 

This is the book with some of the info on ww2 in it.

My Dad was with 3 Boring Section and it was great to see him in a photo

He is on attachment 249670. He is in the back row, 9th from the right and stands taller than those around him. His name was Gordon Hiller. I have an album of all of his photos and will have to find it out and have a look through
