I wonder if anyone else has recently visited this museum within Blanford camp?--We went a few weeks ago and found it very interesting. The security arrangements to gain access are quite tight--, eg: Having your photo taken which is then attached to the entry ticket.Drivers license and vehicle registration is also checked, to confirm ID and home address is also checked in a quite officious manner[Took about 20 minutes]--We were the only visitors in the Museum and it was funny to be trailed[badly] by a plain clothed security officer desperately trying to look like an ordinary visitor. I'm not knocking the security because it is an active base but it did add to interest of the visit. ps The cakes in the Naafi were excellent
I've been many times, the first time was compulsory when I did my recruits course there and it is very good -I guess I would say that though Did you see the two Queen's Messenger Bikes in there? One is the very bike my mate rode when he was posted in London-The first time he did it he fell off the (lost balance) bike in his No.1's infront of a massive crowd ps I didn't tell you that

but mostly concerning the number of young women he 'liberated' Sounds like a scalie back if ever I heard of one
Went to the R Sigs museum last over 20 years ago... dont recall any "security" then... guess times have changed. Am only really interested in WW2 Comms kit... but this includes Eureka/Rebecca and Clandestine gear - does the museum have any of this sort of kit ? Cheers Tim
I suspect they do but I'd give them a call or email them first as Blandford is a long way from anywhere. Ref the security, the museum is within the depot so it has the bog standard gate guard, MGS etc of any depot in the UK.
