I'll be travelling through Italy next month and hopefully stopping off at a few cemeteries including this, if you are after any photos or just want someone to stop by a particular grave and pay respects just pop on a reply with name and details and I'll try my best
Hi, A greatly appreciated offer. I have a few for Salerno. And I have added as an excel file. Thank you.
I have 4 at Salerno II. A. 12 - Hall, S V II. D. 37 - Culyer, G T IV. C. 39 - Marchent, R J V. D. 31 - Cooper, J A Marchent is for a school project I am helping with, so could you take a few photos for that one. The others are for me so just a single photo from directly in front will suffice. Thanks
BFBSM temptage Uncle Target see attached, PM me with your email if you want the larger originals - (plus the extra Marchant photos for temptage )
Cant quite think of anyone I would enquire about at Salerno as the 67th FR RA were not in Italy then. Would you like some assistance with the RA men?
Found in the 67th Field Regt CWGC List. Gunner Miles does not appear in any other documents. Normally during this period (Anzio) casualties are in groups from gun crews caught in counter battery fire. When at Anzio the Regiment drew vehicles from the LOB (Left Out of Battle) store at Salerno. It was obviously a back-up area where they trained for the landing in DUKW's along with the Americans. Must have been a medical facility there as well or at least maritime movement between Anzio and Salerno.
