Sapper GEORGE BICKERTON

My name is Ron Meulendijks from the Netherlands and I recently adopted a war grave of an English soldier named George Bickerton.

I’m in search for more info about him and it would be great to get in contact with relatives of George.

Hopefully you can help me further with my search.

Ron,

Noted and my post removed.

CWGC entry:https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/casualty-details/2080642/george-bickerton/

His name and number have not appeared here before.

His number indicates he joined the Army before early 1942 (when the Army system changed).

His father, George Frederick Bickerton appears to have died in 2013, born 1918. An Elizabeth Bickerton b. 1920, died 1995. Both in Sheffield. No children indicated.

Another (not very good) image of his medal card:

Unfortunately, I cannot find any family trees on Ancestry for him.

Just sent a PM to Ron to have a look, he has not logged in for three weeks.

Thank you

Many thanks for your post.
Any info is welcome about George.

Br,

Ron
