Are people just phoning it in now? Original German WWII DAK Afrikakorps Named Operation Battleaxe Cigarette Case dated June 1941 All the best Andreas
Hmm, interesting Andreas. Can anyone else smell a farmyard? It seems to be coming from over *there* /l\
Ignoring the unit, I wonder how long it will take the buyer to realise that the rank is missing a 'n'?
Also the fact that the Germans had a specific name for the operation, and it wasn't BATTLEAXE. All the best Andreas
Total phoney IMHO. In addition to ‘Hauptman’… Why would a German use the British title of a British operation? Never seen the Afrika Korps badge with ‘AFK’ ‘8th Panzer SS’ is total nonsense. Even if it existed - which it didn’t - the Germans would not use ‘8th’ but rather ‘8.’. 8.Panzer-division did not serve in Africa. etc etc. Caveat emptor.
If you find this sort of stuff funny, I would strongly recommend joining the 'Military Fakes and Forgeries' group on Facebook. To say that there is 'one born every minute' would seem to be a serious under-estimate.
At least the name is correct..... Lexikon der Wehrmacht When it comes to supposed devotional objects of Knight's Cross bearers, some people's minds go blank. And if the "dealer" then also offers a "LIFETIME AUTHENTICITY GUARANTEE" - what could possibly go wrong?
