That's OK, but I will post this anyway (see post #1)!
He has 6 entries in the casualty lists:
List 354 dated 7.11.40 - Missing, date not reported
List 363 dated 18.11.40 - POW, previously reported missing
List 555 dated 3.7.41 - Died as POW
List 644 dated 1610.41 - list 555 should be deleted
List 1284 dated 6.11.43 - Previously reported POW in German hands, now repatriated
    List 1352 dated 26.1..44 Died 18.1.44
Can find no POW records or reference to being captured on 26.5.40 (not saying there isn't just can't see them)

Hi all I know like many of you round about now we start to think of them alot.

And I just want to lay down a post for my great uncle Stanley Conway The Royal Regiment Of Artillery; Service number: 1520665.

I think about him alot during these times and how lucky I am to be here free and living my life how I choose. My son looks like him alot I would like to say his double if I could post a picture I believe you would agree.

I read alot and watch movies and I seem to get a tear in my eye every time I do. He passed on 30th January 1944 at the young age of 25 in ormskirk hospital, after being exchanged and shipped over from stalag xxa camp it really hits me in a newspaper article he never got to see his mother.

Doing this research has changed my life I have been more thankful and grateful than ever before for the little things I have but every week I visit his grave and spend 15 minutes to be around him, in 78 years I am the first family member to touch his grave and I feel the grief they did back then.

I have a son and daughter and they ask who the picture on the wall of the man and I say, children this is the man who like many others have gave there life for our freedom.

    Stanley Conway 1919-1944

    Lest we forget.

He attested into R.A. in 1938. Listed as missing 1940, later as POW. Repatriated November 1943.

To be fair OP could’ve mentioned his previous forum posts…….or typed “another post” rather than “a post” on the second line.
