I am trying to find out as much as I can about my Great Uncle who served with the 21st Independent Parachute Company throughout WW2. Any photographs or contact with any surviving members who may have known him would be much appreciated.

There are two photographs of him in the book Leading the Way to Arnhem -which is the story of the company in WW2....He is not shown at being at Arnhem but was present in NA, Italy, Norway and Palestine with the Company......I wonder if he got injured in 1944 which is why he missed Arnhem.....This book is available at around £30 from a number of sources including me!

There is also a 21st IPC families club going which still has a few veterans in it but obviously all in their 90's or close to it....

    Hope this helps...
