Wanted to start posting some of the research I've been doing over the years on the ship SS Rhineland sunk by U Boat 201 on 21 September 1941 taking down with it my Uncle Alexander John Gilmour and 25 other men. Link to UBoat Net http://uboat.net/allies/merchants/1120.html Link to Clydebuilt Database http://www.clydesite.co.uk/clydebuilt/viewship.asp?id=4212 I have had enormous help from Jerry Mason of uboatarchive.net and he provided a translation of the U Boat report giving me an insight into exactly what happened to the ship in the end. I'll be posting the witness reports of the last sighting by the Merchant Navy ships, none of which saw the Rhineland sink. Here's the link to Jerry's translation http://www.uboatarchive.net/KTB201-4.htm Attached the pages from the Register of Deceased Seamen and documents from the CWGC website. I'll be adding information I've found so far on the other individuals. My hope is to one day contact the families of all the men lost to keep their memories alive.
