1:32 scale scratch made diorama made by me and my diorama building partner from NJ. Some photos will be used in a ten part miniature WW2 documentary.

Photo shopping? I think not, just sheer hard and good work, with great technical mastery :)

    Excellent modelling skills.

I take it that the 2% Photo Shop was the background smoke and explosive effects?

Jonathan Ball It's a way of life.

    Not seen this thread previously.

I went picking up some polystyrene cement today for an airfix kit I got for Christmas. I feel quite inadequate now when you see modelling to this standard! :D

Jon, it really is amazing the amount of information on good (mostly VERY good) modelling techniques available in magazine or book form, or online. Even yesterday I put up elsewhere in the forum this link I found. What surprises me is that everything is so accessible, so practical for all even for the banana-fingered ones!

What none of these sources mention is the two magical ingredients: Practice-Practice-Practice and Persistence-Persistence-Persistence!

I would also add Self-Honesty: the ability to tell onself that this is not good ("good enough" is not Good) and that one has to scrap this bit and do it again till it is right :)

So please do not feel humbled by your poly cement. That is the beginning where 'we' all started from!

Absolutely fantastic work! Does anyone know if this is one diorama or several small ones? If it's just the one in 1:32 scale it must be HUGE!!

    All the best........ :)

See BSP not been back for awhile.
Had a dig around net & found some more pics of that diorama on their website .
    STALINGRAD - BATTLE SCENE PRODUCTIONS

The first video was posted on the BSP in Feb 2011, and have just watched it. It is very very good, highly recommended, click on the Great Crusade to view the video,

Thanks Owen and the rest of you guys.
    We greatly appreciate your compliments.
This diorama was temporary and made on an approximate 4'x4' area.

Some of you have viewed our WWII documentary, The Great Crusade which takes up a lot of time.
Episodes 1-3 are on YouTube and episode 4 is being created filling four 4'x8' tables with tons of scratch made buildings, accessories, etc...
Some figures and vehicles have been modified and converted for our needs and new items are in the process of being transformed for the documentary as of this post.

After I post this I'll get back to my toy soldier dungeon and work on a bunch of goodies.

    Stay well!
