I have just upgraded the .30 calibre on my 1/6 scale Stuart and it is now metal, but was short of an ammunition box holder.

I had a few bits of brass L angle and some thin sheet and so I built one that looks something like the real thing and appears to me to enhance the looks when you can see the ammunition belt coming out of the box into the weapon.

It only took about one hour to cut and solder and was pretty easy due to having the plan in my head.:)

Attached are a few photographs that I took.

    Kevin,

This is a 21st Century R/C and so I am only adding detailing to it as I go along.
It is well down my list of things to get done.

You can pay serious money for accessories from various 1/6 scale Model AFV manufactures.

I am sorely tempted at some of Armorpax accessories, but if I can make something similar myself it makes it more fun, although it may not look as realistic.

You just have the satifaction of making the part yourself and I am quite happy with a soldering iron.

I remade the barrel out of a new toilet brush handle as the original was short and overscale due to being able to fire a projectile.

I could have bought an aluminium barrel for abut 9 pounds, but my version cost less than 1 pound and about an hours work.

I now have only the firing sound with recoil action, but that is quite impressive.

The start up sound of the Diesel motor is superb and then goes into idle until running commences.

A large 12 volt battery is in the rear engine compartment, which is easy to remove and recharge.

    Regards
    Tom
