  2. Kevin,

Many thanks for this fantastic spreadsheet, as well as for the others you kindly posted !

I am sure it will prove invalable for, among other uses, identifying the type of veh where only the WD number is visible, or for completing the WD no. when it is only partially visible.

There were 500 numbers allocated by the British for Pershings!? That's an interesting might-have-been.

    Hi Chris,

Yes many contracts were reduced or cancelled. The Pershings were probably replaced by the Centurions.

There were actually 4 Contracts for A34 Comet - not all were built by Leyland. (Info courtesy Peter Brown many years ago...)

    Hi Steve,

Thanks for that. As I said initially that there would be errors and corrections and updates needed as it is a starting point for an ongoing project. I have updated the spreadsheet and I have just noticed that i missed off all the Canadian CT numbers. SORRY GUYS!!
    I will re-post it later.

    Cheers

Just a quick question, were bulldozers and such not allocated an T number?
Or if in the case of US vehicles did they retain their USA number?

    Cheers,

Liberty Engine: A Technical & Operational History by Robert J. Neal lists some contracts including T6552 which according to the books includes T90160 to T90190 as Cruisers Mk IVA. Some pages with other contracts ara available as preview on Google Books.

  9. Bulldozers used by Commonwealth forces etc. had E as prefix. Armoured angledozers retained their manufacturer's number as well, i.e. 1Txxxx & 3Txxx for D7A & D6A respectively.
