I make no apologies for having written about my family on this forum simply because I have always considered that my very large family (eleven children) had certainly more than played their part in the perils of ww2. On this occasion I beg your indulgence while I once again talk of my lovely sister Gertie who sadly passed away last Wednesday at the wonderful age of one hundred and one. Gertie's husband Alf Denenberg was wounded on the D-Day landings of June 1944 and I once persuaded her to tell their story on the BBC People's War Archives: BBC - WW2 People's War - I'll never forget that day It still makes sobering reading ............. With Gertie's passing I now find myself the last survivor of the Goldstein clan RIP Gertie....... Ron
Likewise, although words will never be. Enough Kyle Ps " Kyle sorry to here about Rons sister please pass on my condolences.."...Jim (verrieres)
So sorry, Ron. It must be a rotten time for you. I hope (and I'm sure) that you're receiving lots of support from those around you.
Well done, Gertie You come from a wonderful family , Ron, and b"h the next generations will carry on your family name.
Not a lot I can say, Ron. Honest commiserations & all that, we all mean it even if we've not 'met' you in person. You like to remind us of the adage that you're never truly dead until nobody mentions your name any more; well plenty are reading your sister's name and part of her story here. ~A
