CECIL LEROY JACOBSON with the Coast Guard passed fromlife in 1964.

I have just learned he served with honor and bravery at Guadalcanal and was referred to as the LONE WOLF.

If anyone has any information on Leroy I would lover to know.

    Thanks.

(Cecil) Leroy Jacobson was my second cousin. I can probably tell you anything you want to know about him. I've got a few photos, newspaper and magazine articles, and a copy of a comic that featured him in WW2. Let me know what you want to know, and I'll see if I can get it out to you.

Cecil was my wife's grandfather. I've been told that he was born in Alabama, and succumbed to the affects of Malaria contracted during his service in the Pacific Theatre. He married (Mary, now deceased) and had three children (a daughter and two sons, Lee (deceased) and Michael). I've seen reproductions of the WWII comic, "The Lone Wolf of Guadalcanal" and the newspaper article to show my kids (Cecil's great grandchildren). Lee was the spitting image of Cecil and "ironically" succumbed to long-term affects of exposure to Agent Orange in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

Dell Comics / Western Publishing published "War Heroes" comic series. The July-September Issue, No. 9. has the story, "The LONE WOLF of Guadalcanal" on pages 37 - 42.

Copy of the cover and The Lone Wolf of Guadalcanal story (attached) in .pdf format

If anybody has them, I'd love to get an original or a copy of the newspaper versions for my wife and kids. Please upload.

    Thank you and enjoy...
