???? This does not ring true

    Come on, Peter, he may have been a young over-achiever :D

    Anyway, there are two possibilities: either he's an impostor and this world is full of them so no big news, or he believes his own story to be truthful. If the latter then we have a different situation.

    Its only slightly less believable than a Labour politician saying "I have Britain's interests at heart" or the latest Doctor Who episode.

    And the competence of the reporter, surely.

    I totally agree. Slapdash journalism, lack of ANY research etc.

    I hope he reads this thread or someone points him here.
    Could even be a job for the Waltenkommando on Arsse

    My Father in Law always claimed he was dropped into France as an 18 yr old. Mind he was a fluent French speaker and his Father was in the resistance. I've seen letters and artefacts that back this up but he never claimed he wore an SS uniform or got by speaking pidgin Yorkshire/Yiddish/German!!
