They are usually very on the ball Drew.
I usually give them a call and order over the phone - for books they usually have them away within 1-2 days at most.

Does anyone have their book on the air battle over France 1939-40 ?
Any views on it would be welcomed.

They have advanced publishing planned as far as May and the next issue of ATB should be out within the next week to subscribers.

I suspect I may also treat myself.
Though I half expect every 'then' to be a treeless mooncape... and every 'now' to also be a treeless moonscape :)...

Hehe, I imagine the penguins may have moved. :D

Hi James - I have this. It's an excellent piece of work, and I have found it very useful when visiting small cemeteries in Northern France. Enables you to look up aircrew buried there and get a whole host of detail. Some great photos in there, too. Makes an excellent companion to 'Blitzkrieg in the West'.

Paul , thank you for your view on the book - I have bought two of their airfield books and found them not be as interesting as their more campaign or battlefield orientated books.
( My reason for asking for views on it).

Will certainly keep this in mind - when "50" beckons I will drop hints.:)

Thanks again - the Blitzkrieg in The West is a seriously good book.

It appears all is well at ATB.

I've just had a rather nice message left on the phone from them. It appears their ISP has been having problems with hotmail accounts (or something like that  )

They should be here in time to keep me busy over Valentines Day

    Cheers

Does the Priory run programmes for ATB addictions?
    You may need their number...

Don't ever buy the magazine Andy. It creates an unpleasant desire to acquire the whole set.
    Not cheap.

Adam....I am resisting the mags but I can't stop getting the books (7 so far this year) -Birthday next week, so I expect a few more to add to the collection. I'm loving the Op Market Garden Volumes at the moment, very well put together. :D

Is there any reason why they haven't done any books in Africa or Italy?

I guess there would be few Then and Nows in North Africa but I'd think they could do a good book on the Italian Campaign or am I missing something

I will suggest that my three club together and do it for Christmas , even if it does not appear until March.
£50 is steep for a book but in my "old age" I too have become very selective - don't drink , don't smoke - my vice has now been declared. :(
Like Paul I was very surprised to see it being covered by ATB.

    Hello James,
I just thought I'd tell you about a new book just out called, The Meltin' Pot (From Wreck to Rescue and Recovery).
It is about a b17 bomber that sank in Lough Foyle in 1942. It was found by the Inishowen SubAqua Club in 2001.
In 1942 a teenager and her sick mother sailed out into dangerous waters to rescue the crew.
The captain who died last year, came to Ireland and thanked his rescuer in 2004. She is Elisabeth Ferguson OBE. It was a great reunion.
The book was launched in the Greencastle Museum where some of the arefacts from the wrecked plane are housed.
The book is published by The History Press with 100 photos and 160 pages. Price is around £12 depending on where you buy it.
    All the best from Londonderry.

Jack , I have logged it on Amazon and will when funding permits get a copy - always good to see local history being recorded , so much is lost simply beacuse people don't ask or folks think " Sure who would want to know about that".
    Thanks again

No not yet! However, I've just checked my CC statement and I notice that £47.95 is being deducted, so I would hazard a guess that the book is due imminently.

    Paul,

I wonder if its due to costing etc....I've seen some excellent pictures of late on here from Italy during WW2. So I guess it is do-able. I wonder with them moving onto The Falklands Campaign that they've finished with covering WW2 in a book format

If you want my honest answer it's because there are so few people who specialise in the Italian WW2 Battlefields/Campaign. I know there are places I have been to where I doubt if anyone English has been back there since 1944. It takes a lot to research Italy, and it's a big area. So it would probably have to cover several volumes.
