    Hi all,

Hoping to positively ID a Tiger Moth crash on November 6th, 1945, near Bishop Stortford. The aircraft (5612) which belonged to RAF Great Dunmow Station Flight crashed injuring the Sgt Pilot.

Hoping someone can ID the Tiger Moth and the pilot.

    Thank you.

The following from 'The Price Of Peace' - Colin Cummings.

    6 November 1945.
    Tiger Moth II T5612
    Station Flight. Bishops Stortford.

The pilot was undertaking a cross country sortie and the aircrafts engine failed at a height of 600 feet. The pilot selected a field in which to force land but realised he would overshoot and attempted an 'S' turn to bleed height. During the turn the aircraft stalled and crashed.
