Posted by Tonym’s daughter at his request.

I saw that there has already been a post announcing Dad’s death, however, yesterday I discovered that he had set me a task…

Whilst sorting through his personal papers I found a specific request asking that in the event of his death I make a post under his username thanking everyone who assisted him with his research during his years on this forum.
Military history was a huge part of Dad’s life. His study of female war casualties occupied a great deal of his time, and I know for a fact that he really valued the help and the friendship he found on this forum.

It’s difficult to know what else to write right now, other than to say thank you for your kind messages of condolence posted in Owen’s thread.

Well done for carrying out your dear Dad's last wishes so well.

As will be evident from the comments made on this forum, he was held in great esteem by all members and his name will always be connected with his painstaking research.

    With sincere condolences

    Ron

Tony was from a generation that simply recognized the problem, addressed it with courage, and gave no quarter when it mattered. We are indebted to those that served and sacrificed all so that the generations that followed would live in freedom.
My sincere condolences to you and your family. We will all miss Tony.
