All, Apologies for another question but I'd be very grateful if someone could narrow down the date when Totenliste 136 would have been sent to the Allies by the ICRC in Switzerland? All I know is that it would have been between mid January 1943 and late January 1944 but, if possible, I would like to know at least the month that the Allies became aware of the list. Thanks in advance, Skip
Nothing unfortunately Vitellino, aside from two of the men who were included on it were lost at sea on 18 Jan 43. I know that one of their next of kin was informed of his death the following January but would like to establish when the ICRC passed the list to the Allies. I don't have a copy of it myself, only these references in service records, but I presume others on the list died of wounds or sickness around the same period. Best, Skip
German 'Totenliste' - are they archived? (rafcommands.com) German Totenliste number 216 (rafcommands.com) Regards, Dave
Dave - many thanks indeed. The comment in the second link "They seem to start at 128 in January 1943 and go to 204 in the December" helps narrow it down to a period earlier than I'd expected. Just need to pinpoint where the poster got that information from. Best, Skip
