This is pretty old now - but wonder if you ever had an answer Alan - found it when I was searching for something else The Army Roll of Honour 1939 - 1945 says he was born in Canada - and a death notice in The Times - (Monday, Dec 24, 1945; pg. 1; Issue 50333; col A) says he was killed in a shooting accident in Western Europe. He was 19. His father was the late Dr Burton Wilkes (Major RAMC) - it also noted he was the brother of Esther, Foxley Cottage, Binfield, Berkshire A further search shows his father was born in Canada also and in WW1 was attested as a medical student in 1915 Item Display - Soldiers of the First World War - CEF - Library and Archives Canada He was in the CAMC when he married in 1918 Cheers Sue (Australia)
