Tunisia roadtrip video

    My Tunisian friends took this video of our recent day out. 10.30 mins is Massicault cemetery (Sgt Salt etc), 17 mins is Tiger 131 capture site, 22 mins is Montaunard farm, 23.30 mins onwards is Point 212 'The Bou' and the Irish Guards with views across the Medjerda valley to Longstop Hill.

    A very interesting video, closest yet to the subject of my studies.
    Sadly everyone misses the actions fought by British 1st and 4th Divisions (mentioned in passing).

    Somewhere on the Goubelat Plain 696 guns were assembled to blast the way for Operation Vulcan to commence.
    Prior to this 1st Div Artillery were engaged in a German pre-emptive counter strike Operation Fliederblutte

    Just wish the video cameraman would stand still so that we could have a clear view of Banana and Ridge and Djebel Djaffa.

    Just below the Bou 1st Div suffered heavy losses in the fighting at Gueriat ell Atach, .
    a series of small hills between Medez el Bab and the Bou. (Think that this is just visible in a quick sweep by the Cameraman)

    Many thanks for posting this. I am going to need to look at this video in slower time and then ask you about it separately. two immediate thoughts --it must have been windy that day and there is a hell of a view from the Bou!.
