    At 2300 hrs. Boche aeroplane dropped a very large number of Anti Personnel bombs over the area occupied by RHQ. Captain W.Davies and Trp.Monks were killed and 2nd/Lt. J.P.Jones and 13 O.Rs were wounded.

    28th July 1944
    Another very quiet day. 12 K.R.R.C. ahead of us continue their nightly patrols and last night used a hunting horn well in the rear of the enemy F.D.L’s to arouse enemy opposition which had hitherto been lacking.

    Edit - Apparently... Re. Captain Denis Leavey whilst he was "in 4/7 during WW2 he had transferred to 5 Innis 4DG just before D Day to join his brother. Sadly killed a few weeks later. He has a 4/7 Badge on his grave though shown on 5 Innis DG Roll of Honor." - from the 4th7thRDG Fb group.

    A Sqn recce party, consisting of all crew comds, were shelled in the area of the cross-roads La Senaudiere.
    Lt D G P Leavey was killed. 7881869 Sgt Piper and 14427757 Tpr Smith were slightly wounded.
