You need to consult a physician about that dreadful affliction you have right away. Mardi Gras is right around the corner you know.

Try drinking heavily. If you get a hangover right away now, might as well make the most of it and quaff in high gear. Couldn’t hurt. Much.

    That's a pretty neat read!

Rum and Coke was the first ever mixed drink I poured down my pie hole back in 1978 while I was in the Army.

Lately I've been making quite a few "Dirty Shirleys" - the alcoholic version of the overly sweet Shirley Temple drink for kids. The recipe I like involves ginger beer, lime juice, a little grenadine, and your alcohol of choice.

Don't ask such questions to a Belgian....Too many beers, but my favourite (at the moment) is Lupulus, brewn in the Ardennes, a blond triple of 8,5% alcohol on 75cl bottles.
It is brewn by the former brewers of Achouffe, after they sold that brewerey to the Duvel brewery.

More White Russians tonight, I think.

Imagine drinking Red Russians...probably a strong turnip & sawdust flavour...

We have had some more snow, and the wind coming off the mountains made the brass monkeys looking for welders. This definitely helped last night.

Gin and tonic or orange juice with ice and a slice are my current choices. A future project will then be to invent cocktails to use up leftovers from my booze cupboard.

Once heard an interview on the Beeb with a man who worked for some sort of association of Scotch distillers. His job was to track down fake Scotch and take steps to either force a rebranding or get it off the market. He had the story of some enterprising South American moonshine makers in some remote town who had the bright idea of producing a Scotch Whisky but didn't speak English. They needed to find an authentic sounding name for their product and took a bottle of the new product to an old Scots ex pat to sample and suggest a suitable name. The debatable product entered the market place under the name of Real Old Piss!

St. Bernardus 8° this evening, the beef basted with cheap brandy and red wine in the sauce. If only the duxelle would reduce, I could collapse in a crumpled heap.
