Can anyone help as regarding the unit listed in the title question - Section B, 10 T.C.C

I am trying to work out the unit named on a postcard { owned by a friend } posted in England on 16th January 1941 to

145767 Driver W.A. Colland, Section B, 10 T.C.C, Ballygawley, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

The message on the postcard doesn't refer to the military unit or Driver Colland's work.

Any help or suggestions, would be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the swift reply, reading the link, this looks to be the unit.

Am I reading correctly that this record can't be accessed for 29 years at the National Archives ?

I wouldn't worry about that - most of them say that! Take it as 29 years from 1941.

I think that you will find that 10 T.C.C. actually means 10 Troop Carrying Company R.A.S.C. which I think was based in Northern Ireland from mid 1940 to sometime in 1943. It was redesignated 114 General Transport Company R.A.S.C. in October 1941.

The National Achives occasionally make mistakes, as I discovered when I looked at file WO 171/5088 - 5 Traffic Control Company R.A.S.C, which turned out to be for 5 Troop Carrying Company. The abbreviation of 5 TCC was used occasionally in the file......
