Having discovered theses patches with my Granddads Medals and Cap Badge. Can anyone help with the wheeled patch? I have never seen this one before. My Granddad was James Fielding, 6 Bn LOYALS prior to 2 RECCE Regt. I think the patch has something to do with India/Burma.

James worked on the carriages in Bolton as an apprentice. Possible Link. But the main museum was west riding Driffield, a place the 6 LOYALS were carrying out home the defence in 1941.

Kyle thank you so much, so much is coming to light now.

Owen Many thanks for the reply, this is a strange one as I did see this a few days ago as seen in the link, however as Kyle mentioned this is a WW1 Waggoners badge, so why would this be on a WW2 hate belt? Not sure? be something so simple but I just can't see it yet.

Logistics may explain. First though I assume he was not of military age in WW1. When the UK mobilised in 1939 it took time for everyone to be fully outfitted with uniform et, including badges. Whereupon stores were opened up and out came the old badges.

Wolds Waggoneers deployed under RASC during WW2 to assist in the supply chain of the India and Allied armies.

Glad you've solved it but only Mods can "close" threads and do so only rarely on this forum. There's value in keeping threads open here - this may help someone else down the line. :)

Yes, please keep this thread going so that I can point out that the item in question is a BADGE, not a patch.

Likewise for my Tag. But we indulge pedantics here, don't we ;) :D

After 30years of service in green, and still serving partch and badge is irrelevant. Having to use civie and mil chat is tricky. TRADE FLASH is correct terminology, however have found what I have been looking for. At long last.. So pedantics is irrelevant in the search. For those who DM me thnkyou so verymuch.
