    Hutchie.

I was at Anzio recently and stumbled on a plaque on a wall dedicated to the REME Workshop for 2 Infantry Brigade which was part of 1 BR Infantry Division who landed on Peter Beach on 23 Jan 44.

Just read some war diary entries from the 17th field regiment RCA in the winter/spring of 44 work shop crews were nearly shut down as they had no place to work the vechiles were parked in mud up to their axles and any kind of under carriage work was very ardious. Spares were hard to come by and many parts such as springs for their white scout cars had to be made in LAD shops. welding Equipment is pretty hard find and was often broken down
