Over a 100 maps from the European Theater to the Pacific and everything in between. Hopefully someone will find a use of some.

    World War Two Maps

And over 50 downloadable Military Documents and Reports.

Very nice collection of maps and documents. One aspect of the webpage bothers me is the lack of attribution to sources. For example, most of those maps are from the West Point Atlas of American Wars.

Great collection of maps, but the links for the documents do not work anymore unfortunatelly.

Index and credits coming up, of course. I'm a bit swamped at this point.

Am helping sort out the RAF Regiment archives at the moment and came across this. Amazingly its made of cloth not paper and was just wrapped in another piece of material!!! :)

    Hi Ogie

I would love to hear about what you find at some point please, Dad was in the Regiment and I am trying to piece together his experience. I also have a lot of photographs that I would be happy to share with the Regiment if they would be of interest. In touch with another member here whose Dad was in and is still with us.

    Regards

    Tony

    MAP SCALES

I have a document that gives a a reference "Omagh 7a BURSELDON at OS Ref: SU490095 which plots correctly

Another - see attachment gives Burseldon the reference 925295 miles away.

Can anyone explain the reference on the attachment - is it a different map scale or not OS Grid references

If they are wartime grid references: yes, a different (purple?) grid was used on military OS maps.
