Thanks for that but the question was really about the order of the ww2 campaign stars in particular. The ones concerned are:- 1939-1945 Star Africa Star Italy Star France and Germany Star. they are accompanied by the Defence Medal and the War Medal
I believe its the order they are described here Medals: campaigns, descriptions and eligibility 1939 to 1945 Star - closest to chest centre War Medal 1939 to 1945 - furthest from chest centre TD
Thank you all for the replies. Just to recap from the chest centre: 1939 - 1945 Star Africa Star Italy Star France & Germany Star Defence Medal War Medal
Many thanks for the picture (worth a thousand words). I need to know for an article I am editing prior to publication for the Italy Star Association. My father served in the campaign and I now edit the ISA members magazine and web site. But I don't want to offend any one particularly a veteran by getting it wrong! After all what would I know as I was not born until 1950 and never served in the military.
Think about the order the campaigns were. North Africa was before Italy which was before the NW Europe campaign.
