It was assigned to the 323rd Squadron of the 91st Bomb Group. The nose art was painted by Tony Starcer. The artwork is from Esquire magazine's June 1944 gatefold, called "Matrimony Preferred." This restored airplane is painted as one of the planes that flew over Germany with the 381st Bomb Group (VE). SHOO SHOO BABY The B-17G Shoo Shoo Baby flew 24 combat missions in WW II with the 91st Bomb Group, known as "The Ragged Irregulars". The plane was based at Bassingbourn, England. Its first mission was the bombing of Frankfurt, Germany, on March 24, 1944. The plane ended its combat career after taking battle damage during a mission to Posen, Poland, on May 29, 1944. Adolf Galland had Mickey Mouse, but nose art wasn't common. Odd because they started custom painting during WWI. Here's some - It's a bit restrained isn't it?

I recall a FW-190 involved in a raid over South London that was described as completey Red and White. Interesting that they did start the colour schemes during WW1 but it seemed to die off before WW2. Spidge-Any RAAF nose art ? Cheers Andy
