Evening all, could anyone shed any light on a couple of RN flags I picked up recently? I know they are RN however I am unsure as to why they would so small? The small one is marked “Universal”and has a R.N. broad arrow stamped on it. I believe this to be HMS Universal and therefore a sub, but would it be common for a sub to carry two flags? Thanks
A submarine being a commissioned warship would fly the White Ensign from her conning tower while entering harbour and the Union Flag on her Jackstaff when anchored or alongside Regards Hugh
Just learned that jack on USN ships is also called the Union Jack Jack of the United States - Wikipedia The jack of the United States, known as the Union Jack
