Hi everyone, I just recently joined this forum. Besides a request for pictures of a Brazilian battleship, this is my first post. I thought it would be a good idea to start with a British medal bar (Court mounted) that I bought a while ago. Nothing special, just a soldier that answer the call of duty during WWII. The jump wings pin came with the bar - I never added or messed with any of my pieces. Hope you enjoy it. Douglas.
A good looking medal bar Douglas and nice to think that they were a Paratroopers with the small pin on wings.
Hi Douglas, Thanks for sharing the photos and welcome. I recently acquired the medals shown below, not as well presented as your rack, but special nonetheless. They belonged to a Rifleman of the 2nd Gurkha Rifles. Steve

Steve Looks to be a great set, but could you ID them please PZULBA - Out of Africa (Retired) I could, left to right as we look: 1939-45 Star Burma Star WW2 War Medal India Service Medal Indian Independence Medal General Service Medal/Malaya Clasp. The last two medals have the ribbons switched round, meaning the Independence medal has the GSM ribbon on it and vice-versa.

Douglas, by the tarnish on the Defence Medal I have a sneaky feeling that these may be the medals of a Canadian. The Canadian issue Defence and War Medals were made of silver - which will tarnish like that - and the British ones of cupro-nickel, which simply go dull. (Unless the medals are silver plated, but I suspect not, as the Stars are not gilded). The most visible sign is that the Canadian medal discs were thinner. A picture of the rim would confirm!
