Hello, Can anyone tell me anything about Edgar James Feveyear? His red book shows that he qualified as a parachutist in 1944 (SAS) Force 133 (Raiding Forces). 'Ted', as he was known died in 1995, having previously served with the Suffolk Regiment & Royal Signals. Many thanks, Joy.
I expect you aware of an odd search result which states: The link does not load and the website itself has nowt: feveyear Auctions Online | Lots for sale at the-saleroom The 1st Suffolk Regiment were in France and were evacuated from Dunkirk in May-June 1940, their entire wartime service was in the UK and NW Europe. The free to use ancestry website - after registration - familysearch.org shows just one man of that name, b. 1913, in the last quarter at Depwade, Norfolk; he married Olive M. Spooner in 1945, in the last quarter @ Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk and he died in Suffolk in 1995. Another ancestry site shows the family name was in Suffolk back as far 1168, though no Edgar's, just one James. There was a link pre-1945 to a village called Pakenham (is there a local history group?) and several people appear to reside in Bury St. Edmunds still and some have emails addresses. There is a village website: Pakenham-Village of Two Mills - Welcome If he was not an army officer we always recommend applying for his service record, even if there can be a delay. PM with tips next.
