Seen it all now. Kampfgruppe von Abt :: Dedicated to the Art A 1/6th scale Dora rail gun. Another lovely model, a 1/6th Panther. Sixth Army Group :: View topic - Armortek Panther - Late Model G - Build Photos
Been looking forward to seeing their new Jagdpanther 'in the flesh': Armortek 1/6th Scale All Metal Kits Only 2749 quid... They come along to Beltring, wonderful stuff.
The Kampfgruppe von Abt is a superb site and must have some really dedicated members. It is always good to see so much fine detail in their photographs. Tom
Good Lord... I don't think I'd seen their Dora: Peter Shaw's 1/6th Scale Dora Railgun. Advanced mentalism, of which I thoroughly approve.
This one Kampfgruppe von Abt :: Defence of the Motherland made me smile, there is a few strange details like men's wearing ushanka and summer uniform, those soviet officers etc. Looks like they have spent not enough time studying russian uniform
This stuff is great, really great. Yep, I agree too But still, did someone notice any strange details in those models (or its only in russian diorama)? EDIT: what is for that strange metal stuff on front of this jeep below?
It's an 'anti-decapitation device', for breaking wires strung across roads as booby traps. Original WWII Jeep Photograph Archive - AVG Flying Tigers Jeeps in China History of the Jeep, both the word and the vehicle - How it got it's Jeep Name - Brian's Military Jeeps of WWII -
It's an 'anti-decapitation device', for breaking wires strung across roads as booby traps. Oh, didn't know that, thnx! But another question is coming in - that booby traps wires were meant to hurt jeep crew? Because its clear that anti-wire device can't help against explosive booby traps - they will be triggered anyway.
Just tightly strung wire across roads mate, intended to remove the heads or wound occupants of open-topped vehicles, who would be unable to spot them in time to react.
Just tightly strung wire across roads mate, intended to remove the heads or wound occupants of open-topped vehicles, who would be unable to spot them in time to react. Just like I thought, you approved it.
I took some new photos of my little Kampgruppe collection. The Feldgendarm, sat astride his Kettenkrad and taken from a different angle turned out well I believe. I added a few more detail parts to the halftrack. A couple of DID American Tankers have been purchased together with Lt Nixon from Band of Brothers. They should go well with the Stuart. The two figures that came with the tank are a little toy like and need some work to make them look a little more like the DID models. Regards Tom
EDIT: what is for that strange metal stuff on front of this jeep below? Alex without going too far off topic. If you look at the Warrior AFV's in my Iraq Pic's you will notice they have two wire pickets welded on them in some of the pics. One infront of the driver and the other on the turret for the commander......This was a REME Mod after we discovered they were putting wire across the streets in Basra. We called them cheese wire cutters. Cheers
Just been emailed this video of the Armortek Sdfkz 7. YouTube - ARMORTEK - 1/6th Scale RC Sd.Kfz. 7 German Halftrack In Detail
Love the Stuart model, I hadnt seen that before. Thanks for sharing. The two figures that came with the tank are a little toy like and need some work to make them look a little more like the DID models. You are not kidding, they look kind of manic and a bit insane... either that or they are having far too much fun in their little tank!
Classiest 1/6th RC model I've yet seen: YouTube - 1:6th Radio Control British AEC Matador O853 Maybe a few compromises around the Wheels, but it really moves like a matador. Chap's done a few other nice 1/6th scratchbuilds too: TheDecoy - 1:6th SHAEF
