1/72 Heller (ex Airfix) GMC CCKW-353 Pontoon Carrier

    I'm calling this one done. It is the Airfix/Heller 1/72 GMC CCKW-353 configured as a pontoon carrier. The inspiration came from modelling friend Petr DuĊĦek who did this one years ago and also made the master for Tracks and Troops. I used two resin pontoons I had in my stash to make the correct size and the saddle, etc. was scratch-built as previously documented. So here is the finished product with markings courtesy of Pete Marshall of Aleran Minis. The figure is Milicast and to them my thanks as well.

    Well, that was one method they used with tippers but what inspired this build and Petr's original was this one. First U.S. Army engineers.jpg
