It's been awhile since I posted here basically forgetting to show my work on this forum so will start with the latest first. In late 1944, the Canadian and British armies began experimenting with mobile rocket launchers. The Germans were already using their Nebelwerfers and the Russians, their Katyushas. Two makes were used made by Tillings-Stephens and Meyer-Dunford. The 112 Bty of the 6th Canadian Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment was selected to train on these "Land Mattresses" who later became the cadre for the 1st Canadian Rocket Battery. The model below shows one in training in Holland in late 1944 with the launcher being loaded from the back of the towing tractor. The projectiles were transported in a 60cwt (3 ton) truck as the lowing tractors were fitted for the smaller 40mm ammunition for the Bofors guns they normally towed. The Chev C30S Tractor (LAAT) is scratch-built from the 1/72 IBG C60S Wrecker kit and the Land Mattress was a Mad Bob Miniatures 3d printed model upgraded as necessary and is the Meyer-Dunford model. The figures are Milicast, the wheels were from Stu Harrison and the decals from Pete Marshall, Aleran Minis and my thanks to all for their support. I also wish to thank Dick Harley, an author and draughtsman who's abundant knowledge of military hardware has been freely provided and is sincerely appreciated. Cheers, Neil
Thank you all for the great comments and I'm glad you like the model. I noticed on the label it shows the 2nd Bty where it should have shown 112th Bty. A new label was created and added to the base. Cheers, Neil
