    Hi all,

I can't find a single mention of this individual on the forum.

As I understand it, Brighty was a Major in the RTR and/or Department of Tank Design during the war. He was involved in the development of mounting the 17 pounder gun into the Sherman Firefly. I got a copy of a report he made after visiting Italy in January 1945 about the use of AFVs in that theatre.

If anyone is curious, is it possible to dig up any additional information about him?

Appreciated, and I could post some info from a book I have about the Firefly I imagine but I was hoping for more information about the man!

    Thanks Guy,

Those details about George Henry Brighty make him seem more likely to be the right fellow.
