I have been attempting to trace my fathers Army service with the 5th (Hackney) Bn, The Royal Berkshire Regiment. Then the 2nd Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment from 1939-1946 with mixed success.
    Could anyone shed some light?
    Thanks Vic

My great granddad served in this regiment in WW1 and I have found the museum - http://www.thewardrobe.org.uk - great. Check that website out. It seems very good to me. I'd say you are possibly lucky your grandfather served with this regiment, as many regiments don't have such good history teams interested in them.

I have constructed a website dedicated to the 2nd Battalion The Royal Berkshire Regiment, with all I have collected and what has been donated, address below.

I do have some more information to add which I am working on at the moment.

I hope it is of help to fellow researchers.
