I would be most grateful if anyone can share information on the Army Groups Royal Artillery (AGRAs) that served with the British 2nd Army during 1944-45.

More specifically, I would like to find out which was the second/intermediate AGRA of the 2nd Army and which regiments this AGRA included?

As I understand it, AGRAs were usually attached to Corps formations within an Army. Furthermore, that 2nd Army included (at Normandy) I Corps, VIII Corps, XII Corps and XXX Corps; with I Corps moving to 1st Canadian Army by August 1944. Moreover, that the AGRAs usually attached to these corps' were 4th AGRA, 8th AGRA, 3rd AGRA and 5th AGRA respectively. However, it is not clear to me which AGRA was then the second/intermediate AGRA, and whether this changed when I Corps moved. I would also then like to identify the specific regiments with the second/intermediate AGRA.

    Any insights would be appreciated!

Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean by "second /intermediate" AGRA.

AGRAs were assigned to Corps, but could be switched to support another corps. E.g, Op Windsor and Epsom were both mounted by 1 Corps, but 3 & 4 AGRA were involved in controlling medium and heavy guns. An AGRA HQ was similar to the HQ RA of a division. It had a bunch of staff officers, communications equipment vehicles and a Royal Signals detachment. The Brigadier Commander commanded five (ish) regiments and their logistics.

Thank you Sheldrake for the further insights.

I was referring to 'second AGRA' in the sense of listings for vehicle markings.

I have now found an Order of Battle, detailing the required information.
