The Div sign on the carrier is the later war sign for 4th Infantry Division. In 1940 the quadrant was on the 1 oclock to 3 oclock position . Rich posted this pic on another thread. http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/1940/8586-bef-1940-vehicle-markings.html
Andy - Pte Pretty 1/6 SURREYS was awarded an MM for rescuing two wounded carrier crewman - it could be the same action.
