In November 1939, The Queen's Bays, as a constituent unit of the 2nd Light Armoured Brigade, was posted to areas in Cambridgeshire/Essex, along with the 10th Hussars (posted to Newmarket) and the 9th Lancers (posted to the village of Clare, Essex).

John Plant in The 1st Armoured Division (New Generation Publishing) [p.9], states:

Would anyone be able to tell me where, the remaining units of the 1st Armoured Division were located, and when they were released from them?

    Thanks in advance, Mark.

Here is a location statement for 1 Armd Div. Unfortunately no date, but I suspect it is circa Nov-Dec 1939
