In November 1939, The Queen's Bays, as a constituent unit of the 2nd Light Armoured Brigade, was posted to areas in Cambridgeshire/Essex, along with the 10th Hussars (posted to Newmarket) and the 9th Lancers (posted to the village of Clare, Essex). John Plant in The 1st Armoured Division (New Generation Publishing) [p.9], states: Would anyone be able to tell me where, the remaining units of the 1st Armoured Division were located, and when they were released from them? Thanks in advance, Mark.
