Hello! I am looking for details of the crew of a Churchill Crocodile of the 141st Regiment, RAC (The Buffs) named "SANDLING" (T173174/H). According to a comment in the comments section of the 141 RAC report by "Mike's Research", the crew of SANDLING were Commander Sgt. Reg (or is it Roy?) Webb, Gunner Alf Treagus, Radio Opr/Loader John Murray, Flame Gunner Dick Goodbury and Driver Ed Devine.

According to the C Squadron War Diary, Sgt. Webb landed on D-Day and was involved in the August 8th, 1944 engagement at ESTRY where he scored hits on a Panther and a Tiger. However, I don't see any mentions of him after, but the tank SANDLING makes a notable appearance at the Battle of s' Hertogenbosch in October, 1944 (see attached picture). Can anyone help fill in the details on Sgt. Webb and his crew?

It might be worth checking the two books on this specific thread, don't worry the books are general: Crocodiles at Brest
