I have just joined WW2 talk and hope someone may be able to assist with direction as to where to go. I am trying to find
information on my father, between 1940 - 1945, who was captured at Dunkirk and spent the remainder of WW11 in a P.O.W
camp. So far I have had no luck in finding out anything. The information I have is small i.e regiment, service number.

Would appreciate if anyone can assist, he was in the 1st Oxford and Bucks Li.

    Appreciated. DMB

Which 1st Battalion was he? There was a 1st Regular and a 1st TA battalion in France during 1939-40. If you post up his details I'll probably be able find him in the Ox and Bucks 1940 missing men file.

Can a Mod move this to the 1940 section please :)

    Hi,

You may want to consider a search for his POW liberation questionnaire in the National Archives.

Unfortunately Red Cross have recently suspended WW2 POW enquiries whille they digitise their files - may be unavailable until late 2015. They will also have much information.
