Looking for the service record of a wartime member of the Fleet Air Arm.
Are Fleet Air Arm service records held by the Royal Navy?

    thank you, Peter

    Short answer Peter is yes.

Longer answer is yes but Naval Disclosures have different requirements to RAF Disclosures on what you have to provide for deaths out of service.

Short cut answer - if commissioned then Navy List can show postings to tide you over until Service Record arrives.

    Thank you Ross,

I expect it will be a long drawn out process.
I believe my man was non- commissioned.

This jacket is in the possession of a relative, who believes belong to her grandfather, I’m not too sure about that.

Please put me right if I’ve got it wrong.

A Fleet Air Arm pilots jacket?

    Thank you, Peter.

oops, not having a lot of luck with this, I’ll try tomorrow with my desk top pc.
