Hi everyone, just got hold of three boxes of Airfix 1/76 scale French Foreign Legion figures, abot 150 in all. I am thinking of Beau Geste here. So can anyone direct me to a site which covers how their rifle companies were formed, platoons etc. I am not 100% but I think that they were along the same lines of the normal French army, or they were when the reached WW1. Any Help is much welcomed. Regards Ian
I did have a quick search earlier and the main FFL website has no organization details. Assuming the 'normal French Army' used the same, it might be easier to search for their infantry / rifle company organization.
Thank you David. I think I am better searching for a standard French Infantry companie around the first world war, but did they still issue the old uniform blue by then or changed to more standard European one. Ian
There will be plenty of imagery for the uniforms worn in WW1, possibly not in colour though. From memory the initial uniforms worn in 1914 were replaced by the light blue uniforms familiar from Verdun for example. This is the website I used first: French Foreign Legion Information
